A friend of mine bought a Diplomat oven, which she has had problems with since the beginning. A separate hob and oven. It is now "just" over 2 years old and just out of the guarantee. Engineer has been called over 6 times for various problems. Then the other night the inner glass door of the oven exploded. Has anyone else had this problem on this particular make. Many thanks

The same thing happened to my sister with the inner glass door exploding (twice).
Apparantly, it is caused by cleaning the glass with a scouring pad or other abrasive material which affects its thermal properties, causing it to explode when hot.

many thanks barnet boy for your swift answer, funnily enough she had cleaned the oven just the day before. Very interesting.
This was interesting - I have a new Diplomat oven, and I would definitely have used an abrasive cleaner on the inside of the door - I won't be doing now, though!

Thanks for the warning - I love AB!
