I know that Charlton Heston is famous for his NRA speech where he made the quote (roughly) "They can take my rifle when they prise it from my cold, dead fingers", but where does this quote originally come from? Or was he the first to say it?

Apparently it was the NRA slogan, and he has used it as his own.. I have no idea who actually said it first.
Hmmm, apparently it came from the original levi jeans advert way back. The slogan was 'you can take my jeans when you rip them from my cold, dead body'
It showed a woman wanting a pair of levi's. But she could never get the guy to take them off, no matter what she tried. Cos back then they were only made for men...
Ahhhhh...so the NRA nicked..the cads!
