How long after being off the pill can you ovulate?

Hi, me and my husband have recently decided to stop trying not to concieve (if that makes sense) i.e. i've come off my pill and we're not actively trying but we would love it if it happened. I took the pill for the last few years and around christmas I got a bit messed up with it because I lost a packet of pills and started a new one and I think I ended up taking it for about 5/6/7 weeks on the trot but also missed 1 or 2 pills during that time. (i'm not usually so scatty but I had a lot on my mind at the time). I actually lost my pills when i went to my parents and we decided that we are ready to have children so I stopped taking them from that point. I had a 'period' about 3 days later and have stayed off the pill. Is it possible to ovulate so soon from stopping taking the pill? I appreciate that every woman is different, i'm just after the possibility factor. Or does it take your body a while to start ovulating again? Also, in addition to this, the fact that I missed some pills - could have have an added effect? Even though we decided to not actively try, now that we've decided to it's all we can think about! If anyone knows, has advice from experience or anything it would be greatly appreciated!

Yes ~ it is very possible!

I came off the pill and was pregnant within the month, although another time I was trying for almost a year after coming off the pill...

Some women have said that they conceived while taking the pill (maybe missing one or two) but this hasn't happened to me. As you say, everyone is different and it is normal for a couple to be trying for well over a year/18 months before success. Just relax and enjoy trying :o)

I came off the pill and a month later i found out i was pregnant, i too missed a few days they say it can take up to a year for it to get out of your system but if its meant to be it will be. Good luck. x
