My ex-mate totally screwed me over and stole my identity when we were doing a houseshare. She gave my d/licence away, burnt my passport, registered my V5 logbook in her name and took out a credit card in my name.

Just wondered if similar had happened to anyone else?

Hmmm, not me. I would hate to be in that position. I think you need to watch who you hang around with...

To make it worse she pretended to the police that she had brought the car and i had given her the log book. psycho!
What was her sentence/fine ?

Sounds awful for you to have to go through all that because of her.
She could have done with a good hiding
She sounds like a complete Psycho. As Athley says, get the Old Bill in.

This is the funny bit.... She got 100 hours community service. That was it. She didn't have to pay me back for all my losses. Obviously i had to apply for all the paperwork again etc.

Plus i saw her in a nightclub about 5mths ago and so i went over to 'have a few words' and i never touched her. The next day I got a call from the police cos she said i assaulted her !! i didn't even touch her. Luckily they looked at the CCTV and realised it was a lie. Nutcase girl.

She was normal once but then had counselling for problems and became a fruitcake!

I have! My 'mate' came to the cashpoint with me one time and as she was an old school 'mate' of many years, I wasn't worried about her seeing my PIN.

I then mislaid my credit card and as I am always misplacing things, thought it was around the house somewhere. Two months later, I phoned for a balance and to ask why I hadn't received a statement. My statement address had been changed and my balance had rocketed!

I went to the Police and they discovered that the card had been used a number of times, the first about 10 mins after I had last used my card at the cash point!

To rub salt into my wounds, my 'mate' had been buying loads of drinks in the pub a few weeks before - with MY money and had been constantly asking if I had found my card!

They never proved it was her but I did get my dosh back off my credit card company (who should never have changed the statement address without my authority in the first place).

Btw, she didn't remain a friend for long after that.
the film single white female springs to mind
I honestly would have given her such a whack, she would be eating through her arse ,what a nasty cow.
my ex spent hundreds of pounds on his new girlfriend using 'our' credit card just after we split up. i never realised that as the 'master' card holder I would be held responsible ! She had clothes and jewellry that we could never afford, and flashed a diamond ring at me when we bumped into each other. I had to pay it off ! GRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it does not matter how old you are silverdaler, you will always make the same mistakes in matters of the heart...
My 'mate' told me my boyfriend of 4 years had cheated on me, that she knew the person he did it with. It caused a 6 month break-up, but we are now back together. She has since amitted it was a load of rubbish, she just did it because she didnt like him. We have barely spoken in a year and a half. She caught up with me via a particular website but seems to have given up trying to contact me. Im ****** off because she had 'borrowed' loads of clothes from me and there are photos on her web page of her wearing them on nights out!!
My "friend" Karl, while i was waiting for him in Calais, to carry on home to manchester, decided to extend his holiday by selling my car and my trailer tent and flying to Ibiza. When i eventually caught up with him he said and i quote " I didn't think you would mind cos you have always told me if you "pull" to push the envelope" That did not include selling my mondeo estate and tent for a quarter of its price dumping my belongings at a church and taking the fattest girl i have seen outside of a hospital, to Ibiza where she promptly ditched him taking "my" money and "my" camera.
I did get the money back off his mum who could easily afford it and i tied him to a tree on Dartmoor for 6 hours, revenge is sweet.
A so called mate of mine went off with my wife and left me with three chilldren to bring up on my own.
Looking back, I think he did me a favour.
