are you a mAN or a woman? Are you british? Have you paid national insurance throughout your life?
If you are in the UK and have paid enough NI, then yes if you are a woman. If you are a man you will have to wait until you are 65 (but will get free NI credits in the meantime if you are unemployed).

The age for women is going to go up to 65 - not sure when.

man and british, paid ni all my life. thanks
65 for you then.

You can get a pension forecast that will tell you how much you will be getting when you reach 65 though.

In some circumstances (it is means tested) you can get Pension Credit from age 60. But if you are still working and getting paid more than about 100 per week you would not qualify. The amount differs if you have a spouse or partner.
