I have been on there looking at a company and under the 'status' column is a letter R. Does anyone know what this means? Maybe I am being a bit thick but I can't find a key or anything.

Many thanks in advance.

The company is in receivership.
It probably means it is in receivership, which means a firm of "accountants" have been appointed by a bank to get their money back by selling company assets. If you are owed money contact the receiver and advise them that you exist. Although he will not pay you (as he has no duty to do so) he may give you info on what is happening to the company.

Note: receivership, for a company, is a bit like having a CCJ. The company still exists and is not (yet) insolvent.
