further to previous question about photos in the northern echo quiz. thanks for all suggestions .photo 9 in the north east section does look like ian rankin but unfortunately the person has to have a surname, that is a placename in the northeast. also any opinions on tv section number 6 and sport number 10. thanks www.northern echo superbrain quiz

TV No. 6 is, I think, Michael Crawford.

The photo is of Count Fosco in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Woman in White " and he played this in the West End. The trouble is that the same part was also played by Micheal Ball and Simon Callow (I think) but as Michael Crawford was the originator of the role I think the photo is of him.

Thanks for all replys. It looks as if the paper have forgotten to mention on the internet that the photos in the northeast section of the quiz are people whose names are also placenames within the north east. The newspaper entry form does mention this.

Hi On The Road and thanks for that - actually it was reading what you had said about the surname being somehere in the North East that made me think of Billingham.

I've also double checked on google images the Count Fosco one and I am sure it's Michael Crawford.

No idea of any of the others unfortunately but good luck with the rest of the quiz. I'm sure you'll do it!
