I have taken on the task of fitting my daughters kitchen. Having done this type of job many times when I was younger I realise what a hard job it is fitting the wall units .Can anyone suggest a tool I could buy/rent to assist me in this task and how much I can expect to pay.
Thanks.

I don't fit them for a living but I've done a few. And I've never seen a kitchen fitter using a tool, but its best as a two man job to lift the big ones (1000mm) in place.
Surely one marks the wall for the brackets and attachs them, then lift the Units to hang on the brackets. All fine adjustment is either done using the screw adjustment on the brackets (up-down) or by sliding the 'claws' along the bracket (side-to-side)?
For the wall units,Why not just use a spirit level ? temporarily fix a batten on the wall where the bottom of cupboards will be mark out fixings for brackets, fix brackets slot cupboards on, screw together after adjusting brackets, remove batten, job done.
I was kinda taking a spirit level as a given, Ray! I thought jigman wanted something to support the lifting.
Hi Buildersmate, thats what I thought as well, but as you said it is purely a manual lifting job, the only other thing I can think is, jigman do you mean for the wall units or to assist in the cutting of angles on the work top ? if you mean this you will need a "worktop Jig" and a router but if you have never used one before I would get somebody who does kitchen fitting to do it, it will be well worth paying an expert, I cannot think of any other tool that can help, good luck, Ray

Thanks for your answers .I should of been more clearer in my description. I was refering to the lifting of the wall units. you have both given me food for thought though. Love the batten idea . Thanks again.
ive seen jack type suports that help you get them up to the height. im a labourer 4 a kitchen fitter. The brackets have 2 screws in, 1 to lift them higher or lower and the other 1 pulls them into the wall or away.
