I don't think either of them are actual quotations. The first is similar to something in Shakespeare's "Richard III": "The early village-cock Hath twice done salutation to the morn". (Act 5,Scene 3). The second is, I think, just made up- unless someone knows of of a dizzy ***** (circa 1804).
