deathofadisc, am I right in assuming that you are or do I presume to much?
Anybody, which, in your opinion, is the all-time best Smiths song and why?

I am an absolute Smiths addict!!! I have loved them since I first heard Please Please Please and was hooked.

Favourites:   Cemetery Gates/Ask/Rusholme Ruffian/Sweet & Tender Hooligan/ Some girls..... oh bring em on!

One thing I have found is that people either love em or hate em !

I'm a Smiths fan - I think How Soon Is Now is my fave.  Andy Rourke is doing a guitar workshop at my theatre soon and I'm looking forward to meeting him.
Not a huge fan (only got one album) but could quite easily be I suspect. I was always worried about being branded a shirt lifter so never really got into them.... The Queen is Dead is one of my faves.
I've been a fan since I was 9, when all my friends were listening to Wham and the like.

My fave song is Never Had No One Ever. Even though the lyrics are full of despair, I think it's got quite a sexy groove to it.

I love This Night Has Opened My Eyes, aswell.
Stop me if you think you've ehard this one nefore

and

some girls are bigger than others

I do like them but i couldnt say i'm a massive fan and 'ive only heard a fraction of the song they have recorded. Of the one's i have heard i like How Soon is Now and There is a light that never goes out. Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce are from the same area of Manchester as me and my cousin played the drums in one of their earlier bands called White Dice. Theres my claim to fame !!!!

barbarism begins at home for that bassline

I love all of these songs especially the Queen is dead. I also love This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now, Suedehead, The Boy With A Thorn In His Side, Wheel Around The Fountain...Oh man, there are just so many.
Anybody like Morrissey's solo stuff?
Twinkygirl - I like some of his solo stuff - i.e. Dagenham Dave and Bengali in Platforms - mainly for the lyrics which are hilarious.  But I seriously miss Johnny Marr's jangly guitar sound in his solo songs.  Pity they split up so acrimoniously.
Changes all the time, but normally one of I Know It's Over, Half A Person, This Charming Man and one I thought would be mentioned by now - There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.
There is a light that never goes out

Hi, I am a Smiths fan. I don't know much about the band but I class myself as a fan i guess because i love all of their songs. my favourite song is "there is a light and it never goes out". I have been listening to The Smiths since the age of around 6 because my dad always played their music.

i am also a fan of tori amos, ludovico einaudi, the cranberries, lacuna coil and other alt/rock music. i originally came across this website because i am looking to meet other smiths fans or like minded people. i am 20 years old and i live near to liverpool and, since finishing college and moving back home i have realised i have very few friends and im desperate to meet like minded people. aside my musical interests i also like animals, i play the piano and i love being outdoors.  I'm NOT looking for a relationship/partner whatsoever! Please, I'm sick of reading posts like those. But *smiles*, I would welcome anyone who would like to make new friends with similar interests. Thanks :D

Hello Cranberry85. I read your answer to my question and I, like you, have very few people around me whom I find interesting and it is always comforting to know that there are others in the same positon.
You wrote that you had recently finished college, what were you studying? Do you enjoy reading, and if so, what is your favourite book? I can see that we have common tastes in music, however, I have yet to hear anything by Ludovico Einaudi. Must try and find something by him.
Hi "TwinkyGirl" :D At college, I studied Animal Management and I am going on to hopefully study Animal Behaviour in September at a nearby university....*hopes*

So how about you, what type of music do you like listening to? Any possible suggestions I can add to my already expanding music genre? A very popular song by Einuadi is "Le Onde" and it appeared on a John Lewis advert for autumn and winter collections... i think. And probably, the best Cranberries song ever.....I Still Do. It isn't a lyrically happy song, however, the tune is beautiful!

I'm not really an enthusiastic reader, not of fictional books anyway. I recently read a book called "Sickened" about a girl whose mother was suffering from Munchausen by proxy. But aside that, I only tend to read non-fictional books such as those for college; educational etc. How about you?
