Does the Wii run on games cartridges (as old Nintendoes did) or disks (like the PS2)?
Wasn't lucky enough to bag one myself and just wondered!

Well, I'm so sorry I asked a question, thought that was the whole idea of this site!

You didn't have to answer if you thought it was below you!
I answered because i could but I merely pointed out that a very simple search on google would have saved you the bother of posting at all.
i didnt mean it to sound the way it did but this site does tend to get crowded with people asking questions that are easily sorted by themselves or that have already been asked dozens of times.
It runs on the "cd" sized discs like the ps2 uses. Not the smaller ones the gamecube uses. I just thought i'd give a detailed answer than Mattk did.
Although in saying that the wii is also backward compatible with gamecube discs so takes both sizes.

Not sure cartridges have been used since the days of Mega Drives/SNES - would they not be considered antiques now?!

Thanks adrums1999 and somebyrd, managed to get my mitts on one two days before christmas and have not put it down since then, well until today, back at work and sorely missing it!

As for the old SNES, I still have mine in a cupboard somewhere, haven't played it in ages but couldn't possibly part company with it, it's too much like an old friend!
