Hi. So... me, my boyfriend, his friend and his girlfriend are trying to plan a holiday for this year, but we've had to come to a compromise; the lads want a fishing holiday and the girls want a shopping / relaxing / sunbathing holiday. We've sort of come to the conclusion that we'll go to the South of France, but I'm struggling on where exactly to go. It's needs to have a lake where the lads can fish, and preferably near the coast so us girls can go to the beach and leave them to it. Any destination ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance. Thanks, I'll bear it in mind. What time of year did you go and how was the weather?

We went at the beginning of August. Sorry I meant to tell you more before. It's just really different. Everything is really laid back, you can only go a certain speed and everyone you pass waves at you! We stocked up with alcohol and food and didn't have to worry about anything for a long weekend. The boats can carry up to about 8 people so they're spacious and you're not living on top of each other. They have small tv's and are fully self contained (although the cooking facilities are basic and fridge is very small (you may need cool bags for drink!). We started off at Thorpe St Andrew (just outside Norwich) and went south. There is a vast waterway and if you were there for a week there would still be new sights. The wildlife and views are stunning. There are umpteen pubs along the broads where you can stop off to eat and moor for the night. You can even go into Great Yarmouth if you're feeling adventurous. We'd love to go again for longer than just a weekend. It can be pricey but if there are a few of you it's not so bad. AND we're supposed to have an even better summer than last year - allegedly!!! All the best..
