It is a New year tradition is easter eggs in woolies, just like a murder plot in every soap, holiday ads on tv non stop and a pointless new year honours

Jenna ... I'm about 20 mins from Aber ...
Wow :) Not been back in a while which is a shame. Oooh i could have served you in various places when I used to work there!!!
Relax by the time Easter comes, the Christmas Goodies will be back in the shops,.there has already been a programme on lunch time TV,showing what they hope will be the top toys next christmas
Question Author
Where did you work, Jenna?
I can't even read the replies in this post, I just keep seeing Wooies.. hehe :oD
All over, Somerfield, Burger King, Kings Hall Carvery, Grapevine Cafe :)
Question Author
Jenna you'd notice a difference now ...

Somerfield is now Matalan (due to open 18th January).

There's a new Somerfield / Pets@Home / Brantana complex opened next to the old Somerfileld (opposite the Bus garage).

BK is closed (lost the franchise just before xmas).

Kings Hall is unchanged, as is the Grapevine.

I have probably seen you at some stage ... although I never went in BK.

If you really miss the rain, there's a webcam looking across the square towards Kings Hall (but it's currently offline due to a technical difficulty) http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/mid/sites/aberystwy th/pages/webcam.shtml
Wow all change!!! I hear bits and bobs as an ex of mine is still in Aber, the most amusing one i heard was a lap dancing club where K2 was lol :)

I was a bit stunned at the change in 24 hour Spar!!!

Is good old Istanbul kebab shop still there :) Oh the memories!

I hear the nightlife's not the same though, that the Glen's some kind of lounge bar now! I remember being gutted when the Boar's Head shut down, a fab night out dancing to cheesy music :)

The webcams are offline at the mo :( will definitely have a peek when they're back on though and will have to get back there at some point. Was looking at piccies the other day from the big seafront fire if you remember it, was meant to be in one of the halls the night it happened with my ex at the time!!! Thank goodness by a complete fluke we stayed at mine! He lost everything though :(

Have so many happy memories of the place!

Never really bothered with Aber nightlife ... been for a meal on the Pier a couple of times, and been to Rummers (on Trefechan Bridge) because my neighbour plays in a band there once a month ...

You'd notice a massive difference in the town ... did we have a McD's when you were here?
I remember when the first Maccy D's opened out by Safeways (remember that opening too) which I believe is now Morrisons.

I used to love Rummers esp sitting outside on a warm evening.

There's a "new" posh place on the pier isn't there, think I went in there for a glass of wine when I went back for a New Year, looked lovely! Is the indian still there, remember going in there a few times.

Will definitely have to go back soon :)
Question Author
Safeways is indeed Morrisons.
The Indian on the Pier is long gone ...

we got a sex-shop in Pier Street ...
