Hello!

I recently had a urine sample taken for a suspected bladder infection. I was told by the doctor yesterday that it was just that.

Lately though, I've become a little paranoid about having diabetes. If I did have it, would it have come up in my results? Or is it something that would have had to have been tested for specifically?

Many thanks in advance, c~s :-)

Strictly speaking it needs to be specifically tested for, sue, usually after a period of fasting.

You may find this site of use... it is pretty comprehensive, and talks about symptoms of Type 2 (adult onset) diabetes, and the diagnostic tests typically used.

The basic testing strips used to establish the presence of infection, also include a reading for glucose. I'm sure had there been anything adverse, it would have been mentioned to you!
