Thanks again ... I had herold scribbled down in pencil but couldn't work out why ! You will be glad you didn't get this one ... 90% of them I have needed the internet for so have found this one a little tedious to say the least, literally just entering a question in google doesn't do a lot for me !!! xx
Earthkitten, more fool you for putting money in an envelope.I sent my mother three five pound notes a few years ago and she did not get them and I used to be a postman for over thirty years and my old postman friends told me I should have known better, what is wrong with a cheque???.
Question Author
My point was that we should be able to send anything in the post ... I have just found it easier in the past to find a 1 coin than the cheque book that goes with an account that I don't really keep any money in, enough to keep it open. They didn't just prise the envelope a little and shake the coin down, they actually opened mail addressed to someone else then opened another envelope to get the money.
I have now applied for a new cheque book and will deposit some cash tomorrow and hopefully this wont happen again, well to me anyway.
After all theft is theft in any language ...
I hope others banking cheques get a better reception than I did at my local branch. Banked approx 50 cheques but what a fuss I caused. It took 25 mins to do. Couldn't use the machines as there were too many cheques so what was I supposed to do. Anyone would have thought I'd asked for a diamond ring. If she had been concentrating and not talking to her pals it wouldn't have taken so long ... moan time over ...
Hope you have a good New Year doddsredoubt, are you doing anything or like me, another quiet one ? xx
