I have emailed the Telegraph this morning asking why so little time has been given for sending in the Griddler. It is much bigger than usual, the closing date is next Thursday and there is no post until Wednesday! A few years ago they gave two weeks for the Griddler (at my suggestion, along with others, I am sure) but they have now reverted to one week.

Support your feelings, wolshouse - seems a bit ridiculous, particularly given the parlous performance profile of Royal Mail. Must say, griddler is a stinker, think it's going to be a guesswork job this year! Good luck.
it's not just the telegraph. others also seem to think we have the world's finest postal system. i reckon it's a conspiracy with the royal mail to force us to use first-class stamps.
Agree entirely- particularly as the chance of going wrong and having to start again is increased.
Don't know about anyone else, but I always photocopy the grid first, work on that then copy it onto the original when finished. The number of times I have to correct it the original would be in shreds before I finished ;-)

When I first started doing the Griddler, I made myself a large grid and then copied the result onto the newspaper. I find that the Griddler in the magazine is better for rubbing out, but wouldn't make a copy and then transfer the result of this big one as the chance of making a mistake are multiplied. However, I don't think I shall be able to do this week's after all - what with preparing Christmas dinners, etc. etc. there's no chance. Same regards today and tomorrow's Soduko. I'll never make the 300 on line!
