The best answer is only when it seems dry and then water until excess water seeps through.If you leave it sitting in water it is prone to losing it's leaves.Also keep it comfortably warm and out of draughts and direct sunlight.

Thank you very much for your answer. I fear I may have overwatered it, as some leaves fell off, but I am hoping it can be rescued. Cheers
