I have one, it doesn't get much of an outing. Can I cook a gammon joint in it? I'm hoping to try out the infamous ham with cola recipe. Can I make it in the slow cooker? I've only ever made chilli and beef or sausage stew in it. Any advice or suggestions would be very welcome.

Cheers

I use mine all the time and have cooked gammon in it. I hardly ever cook any joint in the oven,
Usually about eight hours on low or six on high depending on the size.. I've not cooked it in Cola though . It will be really tender done in the slow cooker anyway.I would soak it for a few hours first in cold water just to get rid of any saltiness.Just bung it in and forget about it until it's ready.
I always slow cook my gammon in pineapple juice...it's lovely!
I understand it is nice with Cola but please do NOT use diet cola as apparently whatever is in the ingredients will cause an explosion. Ordinary Pepsi or Coke are good but nothing of the diet variety.
