I have just moved house and my bedroom is across the hallway from my front door so that the postman get a good view every morning. The front door has clear glass in it.

I have taped some nice christmas wrapping paper to the glass for the mo for privicy and may put another non-chrstmas type in the new year may be with flowers on or something.

I have seen frosting you can buy for the windows but when it is dark outside and the lights on inside I think people could still see in.

Even though I have the wrapping paper up it is not 100% flush and anyone wanting to be noisey could be. So I wanted to get one of those sceens people used to get dressed behind in the films. They are usually wooden and fold out. I would like it to put in the hallway to sceen by bedroom door so Im not constantly having to shut it all the time when Im changing.

Does anyone know who sells these screens???

I've seen various one's about - The Range, check here for your nearest store http://www.therange.co.uk/liststore/liststore. html
or Ikea used to do one. But there's lots around : )
why not just hang a roller blind to the back of the door?
I wouldn`t bother putting anything up.

Merry Xmas
from your postman ;)

I was waiting for that answer teash ha ha

u wish ...I want to keep my packages to myself thanks anyway
Question Author
roller blind is a no no as it is a rented property and a double glazed door so it would mean screwing into plastic and seals etc.
Question Author
makemesmile - I live near a 'range' so might pop in and have a looky. Thanks
You could always hang the roller blind up with the strong type of double sided adhesive stickers (like the ones that hold an interior mirror to a car) and removal of it wouldn`t be a problem if you moved plus it wouldn`t leave any marks
We've got glass in our front door. I have put up a piece of material that still lets the light through but you can't see through it. Ive attached it with double sided sticky velcro you can buy. Really easy to use.

It was going to be temporary until we changed the door. Its been there for nearly 6 years!! ps I have washed it.

:o)
can you paint the glass? that way if you need to clean it off wire wool or smillar will take off emulsion paint and if one coats not enough you can do a second.
See through glass, nipple burning water... what sort of places do you move in and out of!? ;-)
Hi what..the?

You can get an adhesive opaque film that sticks to the insie of your door.

Yes these rented properties always look good in the paper, on the net and when viewing them, but as soon as we move in all hell breaks lose.

Just recently we've had:

damp
flooding x 2
no lights for entire xmas iast year
no heating
no hot water
blocked drains
blocked fire exits
Drug den in next door flat
Holes in walls
Oven not working
windows falling in
garage door shut solid
stray cats
woodlice infestation
booklice infestation
mould floor to ceiling throughout house
noisey neighbours
constant drunk neigbours
football yobs
car keyed
rubbish tipping & littering
gas leak

list goes on lol

we are hoping to buy as soon as we can afford it.... all charitable donations to rentaldisasterfund.com lol
