I agree with you here its as if it isnt happening isnt it?Im not too keen on christmas either it really is just for the kids and its a lot of fuss and panic shopping for just one day...This year I am flying away for christmas to somewhere hot and coming back when its all over and done with.Bah humbug too!
Am I allowed to say I love Christmas?? Its just the whole snuggley wintery, pretty lights experience that rounds the year off nicely! Even though this year, im working every day over Christmas, im not ging to let it put a damper on things... So, erm, UN-humbug.. and a Merry Christmas! :op (To actually answer your question sft42.. I have noticed less then the usual enthusiasm this year.. but I dont care aslong as its special for me and the ones I love *awww* :oD)
Hey Moonhead .. I love Christmas too. Christmas is as special as you make it and I always try to make it very special.
I also agree with moonhead and WendyW.Christmas is special and its up to you the indvidual to make it special,If you've got kids it must be a magical time seeing their faces on christmas morning.

What I have noticed is that every year someone says to me "It doesn't feel very Christmassy this year, does it?" to which I always agree, even though I love Christmas. People are strange, aren't they?
I love Christmas. Two full weeks off work to spend lying around watching lots of old movies on TV, having mince pies and sparkly wine for breakfast, having friends round for mulled wine and party food, opening presents with Mr Ravenhair, humiliating the cat by making her wear a piece of tinsel round her neck on Christmas Day - sigh, what could be better?
You're lucky to have 2 weeks off! I just get the standard 3 days of bank holidays but I think Xmas is a good idea even though I just get those 3 days holiday as lets face it, its 3 days off for free, short weeks at work, that does it for me!

Thankyou Ned.. you've got me blushing here! :o)I wasnt aware you were/had been a member on Wizzoplughs answerbook? And sft42- why is Einstein the only one to get any stars? Because he was the only one to completely agree with your view? Tut tut :op

No moonhead, he got stars 'cause he is the only one so far to make an effort at actually answering the question rather than just saying "aaaww I like xmas" (though to be fair you did as an afterthought, so have one star). I have detested this time of year since I was a kid along with my only sibling but that wasn't the point I was making....it was why does this year in particular seem so dreary??? I was looking for answers along the lines of economic depression or threat of terrorisim but all I got was the stuff below

Merry Christmas sft42
:o( Sorry Einstein. I stand corrected. (Sit snuggled in bed actually, but still most definately corrected! ;oD)
I've always loved christmas (even though i miss those who are not here anymore) but this year seems very different, i think maybe im getting a little too cynical as i get older and seeing past the hype, every day should be like christmas, not in the commercial sense but just in showing that we care a bit more and being kinder to each other, why do virtual strangers find it ok to smile at you in the street and wish you a merry christmas, why cant we all smile at one another a bit more 52 weeks a year ?
I know its always an easy thing to do but I blame the government for pushing the whole "equality" regime too far what with all the replacin ,christmas' lights with 'festive' lights and such. It's doing my head in. *grrr* - Maybe next year hey?
