Why are most jars of dried herbs too narrow to put a teaspoon into when recipes give quantities in teaspoons?

This is a good point - perhaps manufacturers would like to consider this.....you could ask them........just a thought.

I think I will-bringing logic in may just cloud the issue.
Narrow measuring spoons with an oval-shaped bowl are available to meet this situation. Shop around.

Just received a response from Schwartz the spice people,apparently the jar necks are narrow so that we wont put a spoon into them and risk cross contamination!Perhaps I ought to use more than one spoon for everything.
