Could someone please explain to me why office 2000 applications software package will not operate on a PC i have.

I have a Pc which i purchased in 1995. It is a 486 system with 8 MB of memory that runs the windows 95 operating system.

Again, you haven't got the right licence code. Did you buy this as a legitimate package? Go back to the shop and get the codes.

Quite simply it won't work because the PC isn't powerful enough. You don't have enough memory and the processor speed on any 486 is just too slow.
Office 2000 is also incompatible with Windows 95. You'd need at least Windows 98, which itself is no longer supported by Microsoft and hasn't been sold since about 2000. So in practice you need Windows 2000, which in turn would struggle to run on your existing PC.
Time to upgrade the hardware I'm afraid.
