I have noticed a certain trend that has devoloped within the ebay community. Why is it when i buy anything off ebay and i pay straightaway the seller will not leave feedback until i do? i have given up leaving feedback for these people as i do not see what else i can do regarding my part of the contract but pay straight away. My feedback score is 100% as i pay promptly but this is starting to annoy me. Anybody else feel the same?

yep, some people just dont bother,iv got 3 people owing me feedback for over 2 months now,i email them nicely, but nothing,so now i do as you do,i only leave it now once i have received it.
Unless I misunderstand what you mean, I don't think the seller should leave feedback until they have had payment. Otherwise on what basis would they give you feedback? They could leave feedback before someone pays only for them never to get the money. Would you leave feedback before receiving the goods?
I always used to leave feedback once I received payment for an item I had sold but now I don't. The reason for this is that I have several people that have purchased goods from me but never have returned my feedback. I now state on my invoice that I will not leave feedback until they leave it for me & in that way I know they have received and are happy wtih the goods I have sent.
I always leave feedback as soon as my buyers have done so for me - that way you know they are happy with the transaction.

If you buy something you should let the seller know you have received the item and are happy with it. If we hear nothing from you how do we know you received it?

If I buy something I will always leave feedback

9 out of 10 sellers will leave yours as soon as you have left it for them
I am leave feedback after the buyer has left it. The reasons I do it that way are -
* You know they have recieved the item
* They are happy with their purchase.

Otherwise you can leave positive feedback then they are unhappy and leave negative feedback, at least if you still have feedback to leave you can adjust your feedback accordingly!
I always thought the seller's feedback was rating the buyer, not the buyer's feedback.
Surely, it should just say something like "Quick payment. Ta very much"

i agree with the original poster. When i have paid immediately, for example by paypal, that is my part of the bargain over and done with, therefore i think the sellers should leave me feedback first, seeing as i could, for example wait for a couple of weeks to fulfil their part of the bargain. If they are waiting for me to leave positive before they leave positive, i think thats really chheky, because if i left negative, are they then going to leave me negative for paying the full amount immediately?. i feel like im being held to ransom, that if i dont give them positive, they wont give me positive despite me doing everything right!
I emailed somenone politely this week asking if they (as a seller) could leave me feedback and I got an email full of abuse.....................and then positive feedback.

I think it is the responsibility of the seller to leave feedback to state that payment has been received. What else is a buyer supposed to do? Once they have paid then they have fulfilled their role.
yes ive noticed that trend too its rather naughty i dont leve buyers feedback til they have left mine but some of them are really cheaky but yet when im selling i always leave feedback first, its about time ebay sent some strong letters out lol
If you have not let the seller know you received the item ok how can you have fulfilled your role? All the seller knows is you might have or might not have had it. If a seller left you feedback to say you paid straight away and then the buyer says they never received an item (even if they did, its happened to me!) and then leaves you negative feedback, how is that fair?
It doesn't take one minute to thank the seller for listing that item you really wanted and sending it to you quickly, and notifying you every step of the way. Saying thank you is normal at any other time isn't it?
