I've just read that Samuel Becket wrote the Myles na Gopaleen stuff in the Irish Times. This was probably intended as a joke. Anyone know anything about this, please ?

No - I think it was written by the Irish author and satarist Flann O Brien (real name Brian O'Nolan) whose other work included At Swim-Two Birds and The Poor Mouth

Mwease,Yes I know of the different aliases. The book said that he was a drunk and that Beckett wrote his stuff but the more I think about it-the more I think it was a joke in poor taste. I tried to read ''A swim--'' but couldn't get on with it but I enjoyes The Dalkey Archives and a Collection of the Irish Times stuff. Ciao B.
