I'm thinking of buying a dvd recorder from Asda. I think its one of there own brands - Duraband. Does anyone out there know what there like, or if there is a web site with any info on these machines.
Thanks in advance.

I do know that if you are unhappy with any electrical item, Asda will replace or refund without question as long as you return it in a reasonable time with the receipt.

This is also sold under the Pacific brand - you can be sure there is a big name behind it and only the badges are changed.

I suggest you buy one, try it, and if you are not happy - return it within a week or so.
You could try Googling this line:
review durabrand XXXX
but replacing XXXX by the exact model number of the DVDR. That's the only way that you're likely to find any useful information because 'Durabrand' isn't a manufacturer. It's just a brand name which Wal-Mart (who own Asda) use on their range of electrical products which are obtained from many different manufacturers.

Many of their products are sourced from Venturer (who use both their own name and the 'Pacific' brand on their products) but DVDRs are probably more likely to be made by Funai or Initial Technology.

I've purchased several Durabrand products, without any problems.
