Does anyone know where the original hovis advert (boy pushing bike up steep hill) is meant to be set ? I know that it is actually set in Dorset but I wanted to know if the makers were intending it to be portrayed as Yorkshire or somewhere up north. I cant work out if the voice over is that of a dorset or yorkshire man ?

It was filmed at Gold Hill in Shaftsbury, Dorset. I believe it was meant to appear that it was in the north. Gold hill has been used many times for TV and film as it is the same now as it was hundreds of years ago.
The voiceover is definitely Yorkshire. He sounds a bit like the bloke who used to play Norah Batty's husband in Last of the Summer Wine, but I don't think it was him.
