Having just set up my wireless network - can someone assure me that should my wife pick up a virus on her network connected laptop that it will not migrate back to my own PC (Connected by wire to the router) ?
She is using antivirus but I don't believe that she is as security conscious as I am......

Well, if you don't have any shared drives, it can't migrate using the simplest methods. As you are security conscious, you presumably already have a firewall, and have not set your wife's PC as a trusted zone, so that should provide further protection.

Thanks - that is what I assumed and yes I do have Zonelabs firewall (as has my wife) and have not set my wifes laptop as a trusted zone - so it's down to her now...
It makes no difference if you are connected by wire or wireless.

I assume you have antivirus s/w on both machines which is kept up to date ?

This will compliment the firewall.

Yes - we both have antivirus and mine (at least) is always kept up to date....
My original question still stands though - can data migrate back through the wireless link from my wifes laptop through the router to my (wired) PC ?
If you mean, can it do so if you don't take the precautions described, then the answer is, at least theoretically, yes.
