How do I keep slugs away?

Now I know that crushed eggshells etc keep slugs away from plants in the garden, but my problem is at night they are on my path and all over my doorstep. Any ideas to humanely keep them away?

Don't know about the path, but you can put some copper tape from wall to wall around your step, they won't go past that, you can buy it from a garden centre

u can use vsaline, they don't like it and they'll keep away from it

Vaseline on the path may be a little dangerous....the slugs can loose their grip!
