I`m thinking of getting one from a rescue centre.

I`ve got 2 sons aged 8 and 5 whose friend has one which they get on fine with.

Most people seem to think they are snappy and not good with kids

Any Jack Russell owners out there can give me some advice please

I have two both brothers, they used to be a bit troublesome when they were pups but seen to have grown out of it now, they are 3. They still get jealous but overall are lovely dogs and very loyal.

Hi
I had my jack russell from a pup, she is the best little dog i have ever had. You said you were gettng one from the rescue centre, I think it would be nice to have a rescue dog, but for children I would suggest a puppy, as they learn to grow with you , they are very intelligent little dogs. very loyal to there owners. Some JR can be a bit unpredictable so would be bit weary of an older dog. But you have picked the right choice. My JR loves children. As long as you pick one thats good with children you should be ok.
I know it's been ages since you posted this but..last week we had to have our beloved Iggy put down at quite a young age (seven). He was very ill. We have since got a new JR pup, the lovely Archie, who seems as nice as pie. Did you get a JR in the end?
