There is no agreement of religious calendars.
This current year is variously known as;
Christian based Gregorian calendar... AD 2006
Hebrew calendar... 5767
Islamic calendar... 1427 AH
However, in terms of international commerce etc. it is often expedient to refer to the date as 2006 CE (Common Era).
