If I have sky multi room in my house - can I take my second box (& card) to another location (second home) that has a dish available ? And will it work ?

Yes although Sky will insist on fitting it in the first house (alond with a phone line - which is ridiculous in a bedroom), then you can have the 2nd box refitted elsewhere. That's how a lot of us do in here in Spain. Main box in England, 2nd box in Spain.
