While I took a dog to a coffi shop with me (from dogs home) a man walked past me with his dog and before I could do anything my dog had him by the back. I did an accident form explaining the incident. I've been informed that the owner has rung the home that and is taking his dog to the vet. I had a meeting with the manager as it has been said I broke the rules by taking him to a coffee shop which no one said about and I have seen other walkers in there before which I told them. The dog was a big bulldog which the manager gave out to me first time walking I clarified to her that I had never walked him. I had a meeting with her today and they're not banning me from walking but don't think it a good idea to walk for a few days and to call back in a few days to see what the outcome will be after the owner has been to the vet. It's my birthday and I'm so upset about this. Just been told there is going to be strict rules.

Duh! Thanks, Pasta 😁

//It wasn't to do with how strong a dog walked passed out of no where there was no time for me to react as dog was already right next to him had he have safe distanced I could have controlled him. First time I walked him manager gave him out to me and I told her I hasn't walked him before.//

Maybe it's just me but despite reading it several times I just don't understand what you are trying to say, abbey.

Abbey means:

It was nothing to do with strength of the dog I was in charge of.

Another dog walked very close to him and he snapped before I could react.

Had the other dog been kept at a safe distance I could have controlled him.

Punctuation...

//It wasn't to do with how strong(the dog held by Abbey).  A dog walked past out of no where, there was no time for me to react as dog was already right next to him(dog Abbey had on lead). Had he(the owner of other dog) have safe distanced, I could have controlled him. First time I walked him, manager gave him out to me and I told her I hasn't walked him before.//

That's ^^^how I read it.

Ok thanks barry.- so even it had been a puny poodle rather than a bulldog the consequences could have been the same

Why did you message a volunteer for advice, and not the dogs home staff?

I suppose so

Question Author

Because I was scared and he had had incidents before.the

so you were sitting inside a cafe when the other dog went past?
or walking down the road?

//also owner wasn't fully focused//

But the dog walker was whilst enjoying a latte?

Abbey, as the big bulldog 'had had incidents before', I think strict rules  are necessary - and they should have been in place already.

Barking.

Question Author

No there was very little space I was on the table and before I could do anything my dog was on the dog.

If it was possible this dog could attack then the centre should have seen to it that it was muzzled before being walked. My 2 cents.

Question Author

The bulldog hadn't had no incidents before

Abbey, I am finding some of your posts confusing. When you said 'he had incidents before', I took it that you meant the big bulldog?

Question Author

No he hasn't. I gotta ring home back at 4

Oh, OK, Abbey. I hope the injured dog isn't badly injured - and I hope the dogs home set up definitive, detailed guidelines for the volunteers.

I'm confused as to which dog had "had incidents before"...and what kind of incidents?

I think Abbey means that the volunteer she contacted had had incidents before. Possibly.
