We're thinking of going next Easter - me ,hubby and 13 year old son. Thought Easter would be better than summer as I've read rainy season/hurricanes in summer.
Can anyone share their experiences of Cuba? Any websites for travel companies? Anything we should know?
All info gratefully anticipated!

I went to Guardalavaca and Havana last March and April and cannot recommend it enough. We booked our holiday through Darren at Escape Worldwide who was very helpful! I can fair go on about Cuba...

Been to Cuba 3 times but not in recent years.Cannot rate it highly enough. My wife and children loved it and want to return. Of course it also depends on personal taste what part you visit. We did Havana and Varadero and although standards not great compared to ours ,the people we brilliant. In fact i know of quite a few people who have visited in recent times and have not heard a bad report.
Go with an open mind and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Avoid mid august to end of October when you can get adverse weather. Our winter months are ideal if your time permits.

Two good friends of mine went in late August - just as rumours of Catsro's bad health hit the papers.
They stayed near Havana, all inclusive.
Said they had a great time, beaches great, people friendly, nic couple of days in havana too.
Only thing to remember is you can't use American Express T/Cheques, and if you change up US $ into Cuban, there's a 10% charge.
have a look on Cuba tourist website, or get a book form library or WH Smiths.
Go - you'll have a great time
I'm going in 3 weeks (counting own the days) i'll let you know what it's like.
Can only advise you about Varadero.

Under no circumstances stay at the 'Brisas del Caribe' resort in Varadero it is simply awful. If you are booked to go there just complain when you arrive and they will automatically upgrade you to the 'Bella Costa'.

Upgrade to VIP (about 13 pp) on your flight back, you will then get to check-in faster than the 1st-class passengers, completely skip the queue to pay departure tax and have entry to a pretty grotty VIP lounge with complementary food and drinks. Useful as flights are nearly always 3-4 hours late.

Do not just sit on a beach, make sure you take in Havana. Most resorts organise day trips but its quite a long way from Varadero so I would suggest at least a one nighter with a trip to the Tropicana.
