Hi

My fiance and I are considering Cuba for a honeymoon destination. Just have a few questions for those who may have been already.

We are getting wed in June so would be going shortly after, is this a good time to go for weather? Is it the rainy/hurricane season?

Which resort/area would be best to stay in for trips to Havanna and Santa Carla. We would like a luxorious AI resort but being interested in Cuban history would also like to visit these places.

Thankyou

start of the hurricane season, but I wouldn't be bothered by that. You might get the odd passing shower, actual hurricanes are very rare. Varadero is a good resort area within reach of Havana. You could also get to Trinidad from there (the town not the island) which is also very beautiful.

I have just done a tour of Cuba ending up in Havana, Varadero is definitely the beach resort to head for but I would advise that you need at least 3 days in the capital. Take sterling with you as it was difficult/ impossible to use debit or credit cards at banks or ATMs. You will need 25 convertible Cuban pesos for your exit visa. The book Che is well worth reading and is currently on offer in HMV at £4. Enjoy your research!

Thanks for all the replies.
I have been looking at Varadero so it looks like may go there.
Thanks for the advice aniani great to know. I read Che already, he fascinates me to be honest hence my wanting to visit Santa Clara to see his mausoleum.
Thanks again!!
