That is an excellent question :-) Bit of a difficult one for me to answer though.
and what if your spouse died young and you lived to your 90s, would they recognise you if you met in the afterlife??? would you recognise your kids if they died old
That all rather pre-supposed that there is an afterlife and that you *do* meet up again, really!

well yer also assuming your first spouse dies and you get re-married. its just a question waldo
I like to think that it's the spirit or soul of a person that is remembered / reunited. For example, when I go I hope to see my granddad and others who died when I was younger, my children however probably wouldn't give a chuff about my friends who have died because they would never have known them, likewise when my children die they will have different people they would be reunited with.

I think you are just one little spirit that floats between lots of people's afterlives, and those people see you as they remember you or as they choose to.
it can't be the body thats reunited, 'from nothin to nothing', and the atoms that made up your body, go to make up something else, so if your a believer, it has to be your soul,

But which ever it is, a good example is the film, 'the Ghost of Mrs Muir',
i have always wondered about.....

your partner dies and you get a double grave so when you die you can be buried with them, years later you hitch up with someone else and the new partner has to arrange your funeral, will they bury you with your old partner or start a new one so they can be buried with you??? and so on and so on!!!
I will only meet any of my ex wives if I go to hell!!
I know. That's why I gave 'just an answer', 4getmenot!
I suspect that in heaven your previous spouse(s) spirit would see that you are getting along with your new spouse(s) on the earth and would make acquaintences with a new single spirit in heaven. As you move on, so would your exes. When you finally pop your clogs, you might have to wait for your present spouse to go as well or move on to a new angel.

I need some gin.
If you die and are reincarnated does that leave your spouse waiting for you in heaven while your having fun as an aardvark or something! Or when the aarvark dies will your spouse know it's you?
your two previous partners will be the best of friends and you will all live happily ever after.
maybe you get to have an eternal menage a trois????
dosent sound too bad really!
sound like heaven
Yea, think about all the ex partners that you loved. It could be one big orgy.

All sounds a bit convenient.
When my nan was in hospital dying, she told her son that she had seen her 2 late husbands both together, standing at the bottom of her bed.
no b ody has returned
to tell us whats going on
in that case
when u are dead thats it
Hi Stevie. I was thinking about this on Thursday, at my Uncle's funeral. He remarried, after my Auntie died over 20 years ago. He was buried with my Auntie, on Thursday and I just kept thinking that his new wife must feel a bit strange about the whole thing!!! I'd like to think that my Uncle & Auntie are now having a reunion in Heaven.x
