I use Windows Movie Maker on a Win 7 o/s with a Firewire PCI card.

The PC it is installed on is steam driven and is too slow for Video editing.

So am tinking of upgrading it to a mobo with a Ryzen 5 processor with Gen 4 m.2 nvme ssd.

Now as uusual, microsoft has discontinued WMM but according to internet search it can be installed as part of Windows Essentials (which is on the Win 7 pc).

Has anyone experience of this set up?

The camcorder I download from uses Firewire.

I like the WMM program - simple and easy to use and does what I need it to do, so don't want to change.
