I have booked a Caribbean cruise holiday for next August, sailing from Miami. After the cruise we are staying in Miami for 4 nights and have been looking at hotels on the internet. Any recommendations for a good 4/5 star hotel on South Beach? Also, while we are there we want to visit the Seaquarium and the Everglades and were wondering whether we should hire a car or is it just as easy to get there on a 'coach trip'?

South Beach hotels are incredibly expensive.
Depending on the time of year that you are going a standard room in a 4 star like The Loews will cost around $300 a night.
I stayed in South Beach in April and found a great hotel 50 meters back from South Beach. It was a lot of fun, very relaxed and much cheaper than the other hotels in the area.
It might not be your cup of tea, but you never know!

How scary - I was just going to post that after our last cruise we stayed at the Townhouse and we thought it was FAB!!!!
A good place to look is www.tripadvisor.com - good honest reviews of pretty nearly every hotel!
..and if you are cruising I hope you are checking out www.cruisecritic.com for all the valuable info about your cruise - click on 'boards' in the blue row at the top and then click on your cruise line!
