If only they'd say 'will' rather than 'could'.

@11.50.But the "World At War"wasnt a BBC production,Khandro,It was a Thames Television production. If it was a BBC production they would have air-brushed out all the anti-semitic stuff.

Thanks all for correcting my errors over the Gilmore case. It was 13 years ago so I forgot a lot of the details.

In 2023 there were 900,000 reported crimes in London. You could probably count on one hand how many of those involved war memorials.

Instead of tackling the main problem, the Tories are going for vote winning headlines before the GE. But they are desperate dispute their 70+ majority.

ynnafymmi. Thanks, I know The World at War  was put together by Jeremy Isaacs, in fact I have the box set.

It's the finest record of the war ever produced.

Rather then fine the diddly-donks who climb our war memorials, why not conscript them into the army for a year to let them see the hurt they cause when abusing what our armed services have fought for to give us the freedoms we have.

"why not conscript them into the army for a year..."

Because the British Army is a body of highly trained professional soldiers who have neither the time nor the inclination to play host to a load of delinquents and scrimshankers who have no wish to join them in their endeavours.

It has to be 'could' rather than 'will'. You don't want to screw up some idiot student who got sloshed one evening and tried to climb a statue just because you want to hit hard those deliberately causing trouble and climbing or defacing public property in disrespect of the nation.

Indeed, OG. Courts must be given the discretion to vary their sentences having considered all the circumstances.
