Good for Ukraine as long as Zelenskyy can stop it leaking into the corruption which seems to be endemic there.

Also, whither Russia? Interesting possible scenarios from Atlantic Council;

As long as we stand firm, Russia's war in Ukraine is doomed. Putin is desperately relying on the west getting tired of supporting the country. The losses they suffer cannot be sustained indefinitely. Against the background of uncertainly of weapons supply etc tho is the fact that Ukraine is gradually becoming a major supplier of its own weaponry. There are 200 drone-making firms in the country alone. Interestingly the head of Ukraine's GUR Budanov clained Trump was not "anti-Ukraine" - but Budanov is Mr Mind Games

What interests me is the thought that history is not, by any means on the side of the deranged, Vladimir Putin.

All empires have eventually failed - the Romans, the Ottomans, the French, the Spanish and indeed the British. There is nowhere an example that I can think of where an empire, having once collapsed, as the Soviet Union did in 1991, has ever been put back together again.
