Everything fits in the grid without having to refer to "acrosses jumbled thematically" and "downs non-thematically" by eliminating/using letters which are in both answers EXCEPT for 12a where the 3rd and 7th letters could be either R or L ...how does this work with the theme please?

It needs to be one particular letter so that the thematic entries, inside and outside, work....

yes i understand that ...for instance i can see a jumbled boy in a jumbled blue in 24a, but not for this one....

SD, they're not 'jumbled' - they're straightforward....

Question Author

still don't see the boy or the blue in 12a??

I think i must be interpreting wrongly...

SD,  the boy isn't  actually in 12 A - they are all just part of the affected row. In that one, he is formed by the last two letters of 11 A, the first two letters of 11 A and the last three of 12 A give you the coloured part...

Sorry, that might not have been clear - he is formed by the last two letters of 11 A and the first six of 12 A. Hope this helps!

Question Author

Ah ... you mean that its the whole row and not the individual answers!  Got it now! Thanks

Thanks, SD. I initially thought you must have the right idea as 12 A  was the only one you had a problem with.
