I often see these advertised, usually at a hotel with dinner thrown in.

If you have been to one, I'd love to hear about it.

Yes, just the once and never again. Mine hosts set me up and despite their lies to me were fully aware of how the evening would progress. I fell for it hook, line and sinker.

I have been to one. I enjoyed the dinner and the comedian who was wandering around. I can't remember a thing about the mystery. There was lots of sherry involved, and I don't even like sherry.

I can't imagine how it pans out.  If it interfered with my meal I'd be cross

We've done two or three of these ourselves, at our house, they were hilarious.

They were for eight people, the box contained the invitations, suggested (easy) dinner menu, and all the rest of the gubbins needed. All we did was decide which of our friends should be each character for the invitations, make dinner (which we all ate in character) and provided lots of alcohol.

It really was a lot of fun and everyone made a lot of effort to dress the part.

Would never go to an organised one though.

That sounds fun, Vagus.

The ones I've seen advertised mention theatre companies, so use actors.

We went to one at the Grand Hotel Mackinac Island in Michigan and it was a combination of great fun and mentally stretching.

The hotel was outstanding as was the food. A real bucket list job. They also do a Somewhere in Time weekend which was filmed there.

Michigan is a bit too far for me to travel to for a meal but you are persuading me to give a murder mystery a go

I've never been to one, however, I'm tempted with a Sherlock Holmes one that's going on in London. I very much doubt I could talk Mr RR in to going though.

No friends or relatives you could go with?

Just looked at the price, £150 each.  I think not.

Put on your list for Santa next year - there is always a next time

I think I'll have to be particulary good all year.

No chance, then

😂

Perhaps we could organise an AB  Murder Mystery?!  There might be a lot of victims!  I'd like to be the Vilain!
