Has any AB member ever been on one of these events and, if so, what was their impression, particularly as regards to the suitability for minors in the age group 13-15. Do you know of any such events in the north of England, where minors are accepted ?

Hi.
I've been to one of these events at Raven Hall, Ravenscar nr Scarborough and it was suitable for teens although some venues specify over 18's only.
Since then, I've been to a couple more which were held in friends homes. You can buy various boxed kits for a variety of Murder/Mystery themes. (Google for stockists).
The home ones were much more fun.
I agree with Mrs.O.
We have been on a couple of these and don't think they would be suitable for ages 13~15.
Any kids would either be bored,or some might even be scared.
Usually not much happens for some time, and then all hell breaks loose.. Neither of which would be suitable for age group you mention.
However,as Mrs O says I think this is all academic, as I believe participants must be over 18.
I have just trawled through several of the Murder Mystery Websites, and they all seem so say 18 as a lower limit. However, most say that 12 is the youngest that can attend(that is stay in the hotel etc),BUT they will not be allowed to actually participate, which I would think would be most frustrating!

Thank you both for your replies. Seems like I'll have to give it a miss.
I think boredom rather than 'adult' content would be the deal-breaker for most teenagers, and that is probably the reason for the upper-age limit for professioanl shows of this type.
