//the right of the party won't form their own party either. //

Why should they, the Conservative Party historically is what they are.

//. In the meantime, the electorate - that mostly didn't even vote Tory,//

Well yes, but that is always the case regardless of who is in Government isnt it.

"Why should they, the Conservative Party historically is what they are."

No it is not. Any more than Corbyn is traditional Labour.

Oh god that hardman speech directed at kevin lygo is pure Alan Partridge.

what a ridiculous man.

Err, historically it was not matter what you want to think.  I have supported them long enough to know.

And historically Labour was more Corbyn than Starmer.

The party is what it has become. Nothing is set in stone. The last six Tory PMs: John Major, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak ... have been made leader and  therefore PM by the Tory MPs, not anybody else!  These are the same Tory MPs who then snipe at ... John Major, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak! It's pathetic. If the right of the party is so strong, why aren't they leader ... and, if they were, would we expect the more centrist Tories to snipe back at them?  Why don't they just all lead the country, like they're supposed to?

Well what would you say to someone who had falsely attempted to besmirch your character as being a racist?

glad it impressed you khandro... if i were kevin lygo i would probably find it quite funny

as for what i'd do... if i really thought i had been defamed to a damaging extent i would take them to court. if i knew that i hadn't then i would make little speeches on telly about how hard i am.

The problem for Lygo was that it all went wrong. He and the leftie liberals at ITV offered Farage so much money to participate thinking he would come out of it all by losing estimation from the public, but in fact the opposite happened, so it was over to the dirty tricks department to try to invent the racist lie, but like Coutts, they chose the wrong man.

Matt Hancock also came third, last year, with a much bigger number of viewers, and better performances in the trials, so it's not that big a deal ... otherwise any claim that applied to Farage would also apply to Hancock, and it patently does not.

Labour took us into NATO, the Conservatives into Europe. In a sense it's impossible to compare or contrast, but currently the Tory party is further to the right than at any time I've known it certainly when it comes to relations with Europe
