I have lots of books downloaded onto a Kindle, unfortunately my vision has deteriorated to such an extent that I am no longer able to read.

I now rely on  Borrow Box and Audible, as I bought the books on Kindle I'm reluctant to just delete them, is there any way I can transfer them to my Audible account or on to my I-Pad....(.I'm not brilliant with computers.!)
Thanks.

I don't know how to do it, Google offers ideas bit I'm not technically minded. Just posted this in the hope that Buenchico sees it and is able to help.

Kindle books are solely text-based, whereas Audible books have a narrator to read them.  While it might be possible to use some form of text-to-speech app to read the books out loud, I suspect that (even with recent advances in AI technology) the result would still sound very robotic and not make for enjoyable listening.

You can your Amazon account to your Audible account.  I hope this helps

^^^ While Barry's link enables people with Audible accounts to listen to their Audible books on Amazon devices, I can't see how it could work the other way around.  (i.e. it can't magically turn a text file into an audio one).

A lot of Kindle books have the option to add Audible, usually for an additional fee.  I am hoping that if you already pay a subscription for Audible there is a way for your Kindle library to be scanned and Audible narration added

All merging your accounts achieves is just one less password to remember.

So it would not magically turn text in to speech but add the Audible book to the Kindle library

As said before, kindle books are in text format and audible books are an audio file (i.e., someone narrating the story)

Yes, we know.

Kindle and Audible are both part of Amazon.

There is a Kindle app for the ipad.

I just had a look but couldn't see any text to speech option, but a google search brought up this video

Don't forget Amazon owns both Audible and Kindle.

If you buy a Kindle eBook you can add Audible narration at any time, at a cost if you don't have an Audible account.

There is a kindle app for iPads.  It connects to the books on my kindle.
