its not in the normal rage, but as a one off reading not all that helpful

Has he said it should be a Complete Blood Cell (CBC) count as without this the full picture can't be assessed?

Thanks bednobs.  My wife had the blood tests because she has become breathless and we are surprised that the GP said she could be anaemic

Question Author

Yes to the CBC

I agree with the post of Bednobs and your GP is correct in repeating it.

To be more informative in our answers one would need the results of the FBC individualy and the blood "picture."

did she also have an hb reading?

Crossed posted with Zacs withe whom I concur.

Blimey barry it's like pulling teeth getting information out of you ;-)

Well........she has plenty of iron in her blood cells although her RCC was low........so she isn't anaemic.

If the repeat RCC comes back the same again then she will need further investigation as to why she is not producing more red blood cells.
