Anyone else find this completely unbelievable?  Much hyped, but underwhelming, to say the least.

Too many cooks?

Is this the film or the series?

I have worked in kitchens like this in the 90's - absolute madness

Question Author

Not enough cooks!  How on earth did so few get all those in the busy restaurant fed?

Did my head in! Can't watch anymore. It might be a good story line and good actors but it's stressful just watching it. That's just me..Some others might thoroughly enjoy it.

The Bear on netflix also has very few chefs  and serves lots of covers.

You would be surprised at how many you can serve.

Dreadful sound quality, found dialogue difficult to understand

I watched it for about 30 minutes and then gave up.

I also tried to watch the film, but gave up. It was just too much!!

Sound terrible

I saw the film - 90 minutes long. It was good but uncomfortable.

Expanding that into four one-hour episodes ... no thanks. Too long and uncomfortable.

Doing it the other way around, turning a four hour mini-series into a 90 minute film ... that would have made sense.

The preceding film Boiling Point was actually done in one take start to finish! Astounding! Brilliant, manic and realistic.

I thought it was good. The one-take camera was amazing. When someone messed up their lines they all just had to carry on.

One thing that annoyed me was the possible re-use of spoons after tastings. No! Don't do that.

I thought the film was great. This less so - the storylines with Carly and the new chef didn't ring true.  But my overall feeling was one of stress. I don't know how people can work in that environment. I feel the same when I watch the restaurant 'trials' in master chef: I feel totally stressed out.

I saw the 90 minute film at the cinema and watched again this weekend ready for the 4 part series. Fantastic, brilliant and realistic.
I agree that it's a stressful watch but it's so believable that I forget they are actors.
I'm not saying all kitchens are the same but most have very similar issues from time to time.

Interestingly, I thought there were loads of people in that kitchen! Many manage with less, especially now with all the vacancies in that sector.
