depends how you define poverty... most use relative poverty so usually even in the richest countries the 'poorest' third are classed as in 'relative poverty'.

and do you count just income or assets/wealth and debts

North Korea.

36,000 people in Monaco, Dave.  Officially none below the poverty line.

Seems like their solution to world poverty is simply for everyone to be 'loaded'.   🤣

Of course there's The Vatican City. Population of 800. None of them 'skint'. (For some reason or other...  😜 )

Depends what you call poverty. Not having the latest iPhone and a 60 inch plasma is not poverty. Even the poorest person in the UK is better off than 74% of the world.

I must admit shamefully until I was watching a program a few weeks ago, cant remember now what it was called. that millions of people in India have no toilet, still digging holes in the ground, and sometimes not even bothering to do that, and its not in isolated areas either.

To completely eradicate poverty one has to overcome human nature first.

I mean real poverty, not relative poverty.

in that case yes, probably most of the G20.

Switzerland ?

>>> "probably most of the G20"

18.3% of the UK population are classed as living in 'absolute poverty'.

Approximately 18% of people in Brazil are in 'extreme poverty'.

I'm sure that there are high poverty levels within many of the 55 African nations which, through their membership of the African Union, are G20 members.

it's all relative Chris, the poorest person in this country is better off than 75% of the world. No one is really poor in global terms.

Buenchico... when I looked at the definition of 'absolute' poverty often used now it was actually no such thing it was still a relative measure

You need a better dictionary. They can't always be trusted.
