Haven't seen a Nisa for years, thought they'd gone

Neesa

There's one on the next street to me.

some peope also pronounce lidl as lie -dll

i do it the same way as barry

Neece. Always have. On a seperate issue with biscuits, I went into the local convenience store and asked for some Arrowroot biscuits. The young kid behind the counter asked what they were as she'd never heard of them. Hey ho!

^^^ There are over 4000 Nisa stores.  Just as with Spar, Premier, Budgens, etc, they're independently owned but operating under a franchise system.

Spar has no links to major supermarkets but Nisa is wholly-owned by the Co-op, with Premier and Budgens both being retail arms of Booker wholesale (which is wholly-owned by Tesco).

Niece.

I was told it was named for the place not pleasantness
