Abbey Road Nerds

I'm glad I'm not a regular user of London's Abbey Road, with the constant delays at the pedestrian crossing owing to thousands of Nerds every day trying to copy the Beatles Album cover.

It must really irritate the local motorists.  And what a pointless activity, get a life for goodness sake.

If I'm there I'd probably do it... just like if I went to Salford Lads Club (unlikely) I'd do a pic like The Smiths album cover

I find it quite funny. It must be slightly annoying for drivers, as they don't know whether people are hoping to cross to get to where they're going or waiting for a gap to get an iconic photo. 
Anyway, it's only a few seconds.

The problem will all but disappear as The Beatles generation dies off.

Easy solution, block off that road, as authorities love to do to ignore and annoy the public at so many other roads. Then the "nerds" can play to their heart's content. Make it part of their compulory 15 minutes cities with zero tolerance of cars, or anything else for that matter. (Meat eaters barred from being pedestrians too until they pay the fine & toe the line.)

Is Abbey Road a long and winding road or is it a staight road? How easy is it to get back from there. I am also worried about buying a ticket to Ryde, once the ticket offices are all closed

I know somebody who lives near Penny lane, Liverpool...similar things there, too.
