Your Earliest Memory, What Was It?

Mine was my first pair of ‘hard’ shoes, my two sisters who were 17-29 years older than me , put together and bought me some tine black patent leather shoes with an ankle strap, my memory is of standing up holding the rails of a cot when they came in and tried them on me, I must have been around 18 months old I think

to a certain extent, it was like a Beeb history graduate explaining integral calculus....

I was hoping she wd enumerate the experiments, and then draw a conclusion
The main points ( er as I remember then, recollections differ according to our dear late Queen). 1 everyone has an earliest memory. 2. and then in adults, you can test memory by showing scenes to difft people and recording what they remembered. 3. memories vary as to circumstances. 4 You can add to them 5. you can change them. all these can occur

and so your earliest memory can't be accurate.
which I regarded as, 'you haven't really shown that'

then I realised the fluffy little Beebsters, goofy and fun and attractive, cd not scout the falsity of : "this dog is black so all dogs are black"
or - this memory is defective so they are all a load of crap....

I dont think it passes first year psychology to be honest

I think I must have been 3-4 during WW2 , my Dad was home on leave from the army. I was wearing a white dress with smoking embroidery across the top..Dad was wearing his uniform, rough material touching my face. He was swinging me back and forth as he sat on an armchair..its as clear today as it was back then..I'm mid 80s now. My sister 2 yrs younger calls me a witch I have such a good memory from our childhood.

I think I blocked out the earlier stuff, especially my dad dying, ( or as I would have known it as one day be was there then he wasnt....)
